I lead a busy life and often find I’m lacking in energy. Is there anything I can do to maintain my energy levels throughout the day?
As we know, proper nutrition is key to maintaining energy throughout the day. If you skip meals or don’t consume enough calories throughout the day, you may feel tired or sluggish.
Alternatively, if you eat fibre-rich foods you can feel more satisfied and energized, and reduce hunger pangs in between meals. Try to choose whole grain bread over cereal bars, fruit smoothies instead of iced tea or pop, fresh fruit over juice, and dried fruit and nuts over chocolate bars.
Eating too much sugar or processed foods can lead to low energy levels. These foods do not typically provide the body with essential vitamins, minerals or the protein needed to maintain good health. Instead, they tend to give the body a quick burst of energy, which is followed by an energy crash.
